it sounds like this Box here:

          Code:
          http://www.acemax.net.cn/droid-world/droid-box/amlogic-8726-mx-cpu/iptv-18-pro-dual-core-83.html#.VkOOW9LhCUk

To get a later version of Kodi on there it looks like you may have to manually upgrade your android version files here:

          Code:
          http://www.acemax.net.cn/downloading-center/acemax-products-sw-downloading-center-14.html

          Code:
          IPTV 18 Pro Dual Core
201406 Version(XBMC Gotham Version, and XBMC on launcher and on main page)

              https://mega.co.nz/#!IptXQCjC!MiP20aIdm2wWxMHXSBG8Whlsv3jQD3kD42O1KdQrpX4

          IPTV 18 Pro Updating Procedures:
          1) Uncompress the downloaded firmware (ROM) to the root of and SD card
             (format your SD card first).
          2) Insert the SD Card into powered-off Box (power cable not plugged in) with no external
             USB storage attached.
          3) Using a toothpick, insert into the A/V port of Box, press and hold the hidden button while
plugging power in.Do not release until you see the screen of Robert Logo.
          4) Update will run automatically. When it is done then choose ?Reboot?. You can disregard
any errors that display after the update, they are not relevant to your device.
          5) When system has rebooted then you should first check to ensure wifi is working by going
to Settings->Wi-Fi. Turn on the wifi if it?s off and you should be able to connect.

You may also have to loook at some form of custom ROM install to get a later version of Kodi, Google brings up plenty of links
