Hi Paul You can reset them putting a toothpick into the av socket (there's a microswitch in there) if you go on utube there are vids on how to do it and how to install kodi etc its easy enough.

As for your box if its square and says mx on the box there is a good chance that its a refurbed mx2 from China which in my experience are the best cheaper option ( I have them in a few rooms in the house), if its round and says mx on it its (in my opinion) a clone and when they try to update and brick themselves
