ipad connect to tv

hello
i order a cable from china to connect my ipad to tv
i connect the cable and ipad say cable not compatibel with the ipad
if i connect to tv i hear sound but no movie
this happenes because cable is not original or something miss to me?

Can you play movies from your IPad to tv? I can look at pic i have taken and movies i have taken with the IPad its self but i can't use it to watch 4OD or any movies i have downloaded on it, I just plug the USB straight into my tv that way,

jailbreak the iPad- there's a few Cydia apps that will run the iPad to tv fine without the need for the official apple lead. update firmware to 5.1.1 and jailbreak using absinthe 2.0.1

Can't remember them mate- google it search for Cydia iPad to tv

You need a tweak from cydia called DisplayOut which is free.
You will also need Ressuported4, the tweak is available free on Cydia if you add the appropriate source but it's best to buy it.It costs abot ?2.

I got it all set on both my iPhone & iPad.

Ordered a composite cable (3 plugs, red,yellow,white and a usb plug) but wondered if i should have gone for a HDMI cable instead at ?5 more? Ay thoughts or preferences?

should get the original. I used the fake one before and had the same problems. After changing to new one, both picture and sound came out.

I have the HMDI connector, bought from the Apple Store. Since I got my 3rd gen ipad, I keep getting these problems. I have a couple of airplay compatible receivers, which is the better way to go.

Apple TV is ?99, Western Digital have some cheaper ones on the market.
