Problem Loading ebooks

Hi All,
I am having Problems Loading e-books onto my I-pad. I run I-tunes where the books are in my library and then transfer themto my I-pad, the books appears after transferring but then immediately disappears. does anyone have any ideas of how to fix or is it time to ditch the I-pad and go to another tablet

The best way to get books on your iPad is to email them to yourself as an attachment from your computer.
Open your email on the iPad and click on the attachment to download it. Once it has downloaded press the attachment box again and hold it pressed until a box comes up on the screen. Select the option to "open in iBooks"
Another method is to use a app like Dropbox and send from computer to iPad.
