getting my payg iphone 4 unlocked

ok i bought my iphone 4 from the vodafone store for ?480 and it is locked to vodafone its on payg with them i know if i was on a contract once the contract is up i can request it to be unlocked to all providers but what about payg what do i need to do so i can change networks ?

any advice much appreciated

you need to have a look at your modem firmware, if it is 01.59.00 you can jailbreak it and unlock it with ultrasn0w. There is rumor that people will be able to unlock later modem firmware soon. The other option is to ask vodaphone how long you have to be with them before they will unlock it.

Speak to vodafone and find out the cost of a factory Unlock. There's usually a small time period and cost before they let you unlock. The software unlock for the iPhone 4 unlockable basebands will be out soon.

like Fijiman ssaid give them a call sometimes they charge from 15 to 25 quid to do a factory unlock

called them and its free for them to do it after 12 months of owning the phone before then its ?20 i am going to wait a few more months and ring them back and have it done for free

i am jailbroken but no unlock yet for my phone i dont really need it unlocking but if factory unlocked i have a better chance of selling ti when the new iphone comes out.
