    Network problems

    Hi all, I am having problems with my Iphone in that I cannot use it to phone in my own home I keep losing the network yet the bars on the phone are showing full and I can send texts, if I move a few streets away the phone works again I phoned O2 and they say they have no issues in my area. My phone is on 4.0.1 and is jailbroke anyone help ? Will I fave to factory set my Iphone before I bring it to O2 shop ?

    Probably picking up BTopen zone signal, kill that see how it goes.

      It could still be network related... That's what my money would be on.


      Calls & texts run through different systems. It is quite probable that the call modules have a fault in your local BTS site (mast). But when you move a street or two away it switches to another site.
      Also, given that each mast will have upto 6 modules to cover 360 degrees, it could just be the one module that points in your direction.

      Customer services don't have access to a live network diagnostic. A site could have faults for weeks or months before they know about it.

        I'm guessing you hit the nail on the head Canker, my phone suddenly started working again after two days of fiddling with settings O2 customer services are awful though.
