iphone no sound after battery change ?

hi guys not usually on this part of the forum
but my sisters iphone needed a battery after watching youtube vid
her husband decided he would be the fellow to do it
result = no sound but jack gives sound and tried the usual with sticking jack plug but no sound to the earpiece
i think hes broke ribbon 3
any ideas how to recover his ~~~~up ?
ie can i buy and fit a new ribbon ect

All the parts you need can be found on eBay....I'd start by stripping it back down checking all connections....

do you have any good pictures to show damage on the ribbon tape?
Some tapes in Iphone you can scrach and solder

ile have a look ....and i have a usb microscope so i might be able to get some pics .thanks for the help
i also see the connector to the pcb listed on ebay a bit small for my soldering skills but ile check the ribbon

is it and iphone 3g /3gs , if yes you would have to have taken screen, lcd digitizer off as well as all the connectors and the MB as the battery is underneath , id strip it again mate as i dont think the part is in correct or you might have damaged , just check mate before you start buying parts for the iphone,even if they are cheep

k guys a bit of an update the ribbon tested ok on a different 3g so its not that so must be (unfortunately the pcb ime gonna try getting a local shop to have a look ile update again if its repaired
