interesting, I thought location info is stored locally, they have to access your phone or the computer you sync with to grab it

Yes, on iOS 4+ devices, "geolocational" data is stored in a file called 'consolidated.db'. It's always been happening on iOS devices, it's just that before iOS 4, it was very difficult to retrieve the file. Now it's easy.

The file isn't uploaded to apple servers however if someone gets hold of your phone, they can extract the file and see where you've been.

It seems this app requires an account on their website to use. Not sure if it costs money as I never registered.
