hi here is a custom 4.3.3fw + ireb for iphone 3gs to upgrade and preserve baseband you have for unlock..

This custom iphone 3gs 4.3.3 iOs firmware doesnt update your baseband so you keep your unlock and jailbreak,
at the same time by simply restoring to the firmware specific to your device.

Important: You have to first use iReb to put your device into pwned DFU mode.

If you don't use iReb to put the phone into pwned DFU mode first, the restore will fail in iTunes.

back up your iphone first then you can re-sync back your legitimate files etc. WHEN DONE..you will lose any jailbroken apps.

2pen ireb choose your device = iphone 3gs and let it put your phone into pwned dfu state

3pen itunes,it will tell you ,you have iphone in recovery mode
and need to update/restore....

4:YOU HAVE TO HOLD SHIFT WHILE CLICKING RESTORE THIS WILL OPEN UP BOX AND YOU POINT TO THE CUSTOM 4.3.3 YOU JUST DOWNLOADED and let it restore
once finished ,IT WILL DISPLAY NEW IPHONE OR RESTORE FROM BACKUP,IF YOU BACKED UP YOUR DEVICE YOU CAN RESTORE FROM THAT BACKUP
you will be on the same baseband AS BEFORE and can use ULTRASN0W TO UNLOCK THROUGH CYDIA ETC...ETC...

same as above but for iphone 4 enjoy,however this as not been tested by me as i have no posh iphone 4 .but cant see any problems- let me know?? instructions same as 3gs just obviously different ipsw custom for IPHONE 4 .

hi mickydibble thanks for the above ,any chance of some help please i have do everything you said above and all goes well load the THE CUSTOM 4.3.3 and tunes goes true the resore after 4-5 mins i get this the iphone"iphone"could not be restored. an unknown error occurred (1601). would you know why this is happing ???

normal dfu won't work

Check your hosts file for a apple entry, if you find one - tiny umberella puts one in - delete it. If yor pc can't connect to apple to check the installation then it will fail. not sure what error code it throws up

Have you tried again? Sometimes updating firmware etc doesn't always work first time

Edit: presume u were unlocked before? What fw and baseband were you on

first time trying anything with iphone

2 its version 4.2.1 (8c148a)
3 carrier is orange uk 9
4 model is mc132b
5 modem firmware is 05.15.04

Hi m8 this thread is for people already unlocked and want to update firmware without changing baseband therefore keeping unlock capabilities on 4.3.3 3GS .

If not unlocked like yourself and stuck on 05.15.04 baseband then u can jailbreak easy enough but not unlock you would have to update your baseband to iPads 06.15.00 then install ultrasnow from cydia.

........and have no problems until step 4, the restore section. no box opens up for me to point to the 4.3.3 firmware.

ok going to take the jump and jailbreak the phone, so is it true this will not change my baseband ??? and i know it wont unlock the phone, what is the best jailbreak for the 3gs or are they all the same ??
