unlocking iphone 3g

g'day, i have an iphone 3 on vodafone. i recently lost this phone, january 2011, and had it turned off through vodafone and disabled via the IMEI number. and claimed via my insurance.
this morning i removed all items from the boot of my car and found said phone in the spare wheel well. i know i sjould return phone to my insurance company, but is there any way of unlocking and re-activating the phone? give it a new IMEI number, if so where, when and how.

Once blocked it's blocked,no way back I don't think. But it will work abroad ! get it on flea bay

update.........the phone is jailbroken, so i went into cydia, mange, source, ultrasnow. ran the programme and thwe phone now works. happy days, it also unlocked to all networks. tried 3 sims and all work fine.


downside is our maude has now mugged me for it.............................bitch!!!!!!!....... .hahahaha.
