Faulty iPhone 3GS, No Power, No Charging, help please!

Hi everyone, I need some help please with this iPhone
It's the 3GS 16GB, it does not power up, and does not charge, and it is not recognised in iTunes, it is basically dead!
I have tried to press and hold home and power button, also tried, holding the home button and connect to iTunes, but Nothing!!
Anyway, I have opened it up, dismantled it, tested the battery with a voltmeter and it shows 0.12V, a good battery should show 3.7V
So I have bought a new battery and I have tested it before fitting, and it showed 3.7V on the voltmeter,
After fitting the new battery, the iPhone switched ON, battery showing 40%, but it still does not charge and is not recognised in iTunes, also, the slide button on the screen does not work, so I can't get to Home screen.
After 1 hour, same problem, iPhone does not switch on, does not charge, opened it again, tested the new battery and it shows 0.14V, so it is drained!!
Can someone point me in the right direction please?
    What should I do next?

    Thanks in advance

Have you tried the simple stuff like changing the USB charging cable...try a different wall charger?

You need to change the charging port. They are available on ebay, just make sure you get the full plastic part & not the ribbon only..... Unless you are a miracle worker with a soldering iron.

While on ebay you need to get a new digitizer. But I would check to make sure you put the connectors in correctly.

The earpiece, digitizer & screen connectors are all located at the top of the phone.

Sorry for the delay, don't always check the Iphone section.

I've never looked at the fuses before, all charging issues I've worked on were resolved with new port.

Was there any sign of water damage on the connector for the port? (Bottom right connector in image)

Any white residue needs to be removed, also check for missing pins. Was the port listed as 'new'? If used it might be faulty (check the area the charged plugs into, these turn white & green if it's been in water.

Hi, no sign of water damage, the iPhone was working fine until it was plugged to a cheap chinese quality charger, since then, it stopped working
i have replaced the battery and the charging dock ( new one ), the phone switches on fine, but still not charging
                      Regards

When you checked the fuse, did you remove the battery?

Done a quick check on-line & can't find any other details on charging issues.

If it's possible for you to connect everything up while bridging the fuse with a fused wire, it might point to the fuse being faulty.
I ran into problems with a DSlite fuse problem. Multimeter said it was ok, but wouldn't turn on. Bridged it with a thin solder line & it worked. Changed the fuse & had no problems after that.

Hope you're good with a soldering iron.

Yes i checked the fuses after removing the battery, i had the motherboard on the table...all fuses are ok
the problem seems to be with power management IC chip
Too complicated for me to repair, so i may take it to a repair shop.
                          Best regards

Don't know about the error. But all the other problems could be solved with a new charge port block.

But I would expect to find water damage inside given all the issues.

The antenna, charge port & speaker all connect to the same ribbon which then plugs into the main board of the phone. If water got inside the phone it's this connector that will be causing the problems.
In m3mpower's photo the connector in the bottom right is where I would be looking for white/green residue. Give it a good clean with a fibreglass pencil, also clean the ribbon connector. Then put it back together & see what happens.
