Not a clue with iphone or itunes

Got an iphone given to me (well you wouldn't buy one, would you?). It's a 3g one I am sure.
I have it connected to my wi-fi router, I have downloaded itunes, and cannot get itunes or app store to connect to phone.
I tried this through wi-fi, then I have bought a data cable from poundland, the computer doesnt see the device, so thinking maybe the cable is bolloxed.

Will it see itune thru wi-fi alone? or does it need the cable?


Since then I have started to make an account, but cancelled because itunes wants a credit card... why???? I have no intention of buying anything legit.

This may be the shortest iphone relationship in history if I cannot get to put some free apps on.

Apparently you need the app Wi-Fi Sync, however you'd need to jailbreak it to use it, from what I can tell. Apple haven't as far as I can see have not released anything but have said one day they might.

I have had trouble with my ipod and cables in the past, so I pinched the ipod usb cable my mrs has and it works - she never noticed

Hi, does the iPhone work? apart from iTunes connection issue, does it switch on...etc?
Yes you need the USB cable to connect to iTunes, preferably use genuine cable, they are not too expensive
iTunes want the credit card in case you buy something from them, but if you dont buy they wont charge you

I thought I had a connection, the wifi symbol is showing, and my Buffalo router has a tick by it in settings. When I try to bring up Safari browser, it says I am not connected.

Ahh smirnoff, just reading that site, and it says dont upgrade past 4.0.1, the last firmware that jailbreakme supports... mine is 4.0.2

What fw is it and is the baseband 4.0.2 then?

It is recomended to download a free app first such as google/Facebook that's why u should make an account but just use installous after your jailbreak for any other paid apps

I do know the bloody power button is iffy, so thats gonna need a repair before I start jailbaiting it.. this free phone aint so cheap.

Hey mate best thing to do is
First
Get sn0wbreeze 2.1 to jailbreak (you will need a data cable that works /connect) once jailbroken search ultrasn0w in Cydia and install to unlock,remember to power of device after tour done to activate unlock
Then we can talk newer fw and custom

You can with some firmwares,through safari(Internet) just not with xant's ...cheers Micky
