Where did you get the ipsw from?,did you say you renamed file to ipsw?

yes renamed, options now show dfu, nothing in there, firmware shows all_flash.n90ap.production, got elsewhere, just says will come as zip, end in .ipws. dont want to select option just yet, do you have better link for firmware

to save time me uploading it (hours) get it directly from apple here ;

http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/04...2_Restore.ipsw filename says iPhone3,1 but is defo for iphone4, check full link path (after apple.com bit)

When it's finished downloading, if the file ends in a .zip, re-name it back to a .ipsw ( you can see in the link that the file is actually .ipsw )

You need to open your eyes....it always contains the most current firmware for all iDevices.....but no IOS 5...

mickey im having same problem i downloaded from your link firmware 4.3.3 for iphone 4 but when i extract using winrar i get a pile of files none ending ipsw and i dont know which one is the firmware as its not obvoius.

i sussed it now, are you using explorer, thats what i was using, then hit same problem as you. use firefox and it downloads as apple software, no messing.

mark i am using windows explorer so i just download it through the firefox browswer then.

yes mate thats what i did, then you will see file how it should be., file is called apple device software update.
