    iphone waterlogged

    ive posted this in general chat aswell,,,basically my mrs dropped her phone in a bath,,,is it completely ~~~~ed beyond repair ? and will all the info etc be lost ? any advice would be very much appreciated

    if its been backed up to itunes on a regular basis, you should still have everything up to last backup. so time for a claim, hope it was insured.

      she cant even switch the lappy on let alone back the phone up,,obviously if it was backed up i wouldnt be asking that question,and its not insured which is also why im asking the second question

        what i was saying is, she will still have everything up to last backup, sim should be ok, so any numbers should still be on there.

          she dont back it up,never has done,,numbers on the sim is a bonus i suppose but pics and vids etc will be lost

            best thing to do is not to try turn it on and let it dry out fully and hopefully its ok, if your lucky it might only need a new battery.

              Never keep a water damaged phone....even if it's working.. it will be a ticking time bomb...

                    Overtime things may start acting up... eg Low volume,homebutton not responding, etc etc. may work great for a long time, one day it will go pair shape.

                      try putting it in a bag of rice for a few days mate see if it dries it out. Its worked before.

                        Definitely use rice to dry it out, have a look on google, worked for loads of people

                          Rice my arse. Get some IPA.

                          I've posted details in the general thread. If it's correctly treated it's less likely to develop further issues.

                          But I'd still be looking to pass it on in a none returnable way.

                            not due an upgrade till feb 2012 so if i can get it to last till then fine
                            ive already taken the screen out and disconnected the ribbons
                            just waiting for a battery replacement kit with small pozi screwdriver to take the rest apart and replace battery etc
                            hopefully it can be rescued for 7 months longer
