    A question for you readers

A while back I damaged my phone when a bottle of perfume leaked in my handbag. The phone continued to work ok, I left it in a bowl of rice overnight. A few weeks later I saw lines appearing on one side of the screen. This has grown and right night I can on see 3/4's of the screen.

Is this as a result of the liquid damage? I need to know because my insurance won't cover liquid damages?

    Thanks for any advise.

Yes it's due to the liquid damage.

Same thing happened with my daughter, the sim number was showing instead of the number she ported, she changed it to the correct phone number in - settings -> phone -> My Number

i guess its better then to have an iphone pro do the screen change than DIY.

My dad tried 2 do my 4s screen for me cause he did his 3gs. I got a screen of eBay and during the change he ripped one of the ribbons and 1 of the ribbons on the screen was to short the reach the main board !! Luckily I took it bk to apple and told them I dropped it off a step ladder and it wouldn't power up now. They said they would take the bk off and have a quick look but they were a bit busy so they just swapped it for a new 1 for free. So I got a bit lucky but it was a bit more harder then it looked !

Its not that bad to do as long as you mapp the screws out (as someone else as said) I just followed a you tube video, and if I can do it, any one can and for the first time ever I have no screws left or a little piece leftover

I've seen what can happen to an Iphone when someone tries to follow a youtube video.

Butchered is the only word that comes to mind.

                      Cracked LCD
                      2 broken ribbons
Home button missing & copper contacts snapped off
                      Missing screws
                      Damaged battery

It was a 3GS that had a small crack in the digitizer. By the time I saw it it was beyond econimical repair.

People need to watch several videos & photo walk throughs before attempting any mobile repair.
