I backed up and synced on iTunes and all my iPhone contacts were lost.

When I synced on iTunes all my contacts were lost. Favorites became just numbers with no names. What happened? If any way to transfer my iPhone contacts to computer without itunes?

If im right iphone syncs your contacts to your windows contacts or googlr account...depending on what you use...so maybe all you need is to sync your google acc....thats what i do

There is a small check box for overwriting in itunes, if that box is checked and you sync your new installed iphone your contact is deleted.

If I have icloud, and I have my contacts there, and I do a restore and set as new iphone, and after I get my icloud account running on it, will it sync my contacts back? Thanks and sorry for all the ands :P

just got my new 4s, all i did was switch it on and somehow all my contacts appeared when i set up as a new phone, and it was not wired up to anything only on wifi, so the phones software must automatically sync contacts from your pc when first setting it up
