iphone 3gs no sound

Hi,
I wondering if anyone else has this problem with their iphone 3gs or knows how to fix it its driving me mad.For around the last 6 months I get no sound through my speaker from videos or txts.I get sound from videos and txts when my earphones are plugged in. I know the speaker works cause if someone phones me the phone rings when the earphones are not plugged in.I have tryed searching the internet with out success said something about charging port being dirty so cleaned that and tryed the plugging the earphones in and out as thats meant to fix it owith out sucess even tryed rebooting reinstalling software.even upgraded to ios 5 still nothing fixes it. if anyone can help would be appreciated

thaks for the quick reply doesnt look that hard to do and looks like it would fix the problem but dont think I would be confident enough to put it back together thanks anyway

its not to bad m8 . if u dont want to , order part and get a phone shop to fit m8

My power cable was burst think that was affecting the sound somehow when I charged the phone.Bought a new cable for charging and seems to have fixed the sound problem got a cheap one from ebay try that it might help
