Why can't I download iTunes 10.5.2?

I recently bought an iPhone and I plugged it in and it say needed an update..... I go to update and the it says error and a message pops up saying if this keeps happening go to tools > download only...... Well I have no clue what it means by tools, can some one help me???
Btw idk if it matters but the computer I'm downloading it on has parental controls.. But I have the password so idk what could be the problem!

Perhaps it's the iphone that is requesting the update.

Go to itunes "help / about itunes" and see what it says regards the version you have at the moment. i.e. perhaps you are already running 10.5.2 (??)

If you just bought it take it too your closest apple store and let them sort it out.

if you have another i device ( ipt or ipod ) try that to narrow it down to the pc or phone?

I'm having the identical problem. I'm not using a new device, i'm just trying to download and install the update on my pc. I also can't download iCloud 1.0.1 or Quicktime 7.7.1.
