ios 4.2 (jailbroken) to ios 5?

Can anyone tell me how to go from ios 4.2 (jailbroken) to ios 5? I'm presuming you can't just update via itunes because the deivce is jailbroken.

Are you sure its possible to simply upgrade via itunes to ios5? surely there would be something to prevent it running as smoothly as it sounds.

Also the iphone is on the ipad bassband as i took it to a show to get unlocked to any network not realising that's how it would be done.

that is how millions of iphone users update there operating systems, you have to do it through i tunes, once you are on ios5 re jailbreak the phone, but as i said previously, lots of peeps are having issues with ios 5 so do your homework first,

i did it last night using redsnow 0.9.10b2 as i too wanted to keep my phone unlocked. you have to download ipsw 5.0.1 then open up redsnow and click on extras. you will see custom ipsw click on that and it sets you up with a custom firmware thingy ( as technical as it gets sorry ). use that to upgrade and then jailbreak and it should still be unlocked. mine was anyway. good luck

i have just updated my iphone 4 to iOS 5.0.1 and i can't get through the bloody stock setup. it's asking if i want to setup 'Find my iPhone', but no matter what option i select and choose Next it just sits there with the radar spinning on a map of the world..?

How do i get past this..? anybody else have an issue with this setup.?

also, if i enable iCloud backup will that in anyway conflict with the jailbreak..?
