hi just got new iPhone 4s on a contract what advantages if any would there be to me using jailbreak

u can customise phone a lot more and get free apps basically mate

Jailbreak your device mate and see what you think- If you dont like it you can restore it back to normal via itunes.
Jailbraking it basically removes apples walls and frees your device to be what it can be. Theres a lot more to jailbreaking than just the free games and apps. Check out the first time jailbreak what now thread.

Yes full restore via itunes and no they cannott detect it.
