relpacling screen on iphone 3gs

hi ive changed the screen on my wifes iphone 3gs
it was badly cracked
all looks well on the replaced screen but a certain part of the screen is unresponsive its where you would be typing letters when texting on the top two rows of letters the screen underneath this and above it works fine like before

anyone any ideas

got it fixed after i used alcoholic wipes to clean connectore 3 and put a small bit of paper on top of connector 1 and 2 to keep them pressed down
got the info on another forum
