Will a US T-Mobile sim card work in a locked UK T-Mobile ipone 4s

Hi,
I going on holiday to the US and I have a locked T-Mobile iphone4s. I'm going with my family and to keep track of everyone around the theme parks etc I would like to call/text them - they also have locked T-Mobile iphones4s. My question is would the phone work with a US T-Mobile sim card. I have contacted T-Mobile and there rates are very expensive for calls/texts in the US and to call/text the UK. I was hoping to buy a couple of US T-Mobile sims and use it there on a pay and go? Any help would appreciated.

also note: virgin sims work in t-mobile phones.

im in the same boat, but mine are locked to the three network,could do with a us sim, any idea's what would one work? thanks in advance

Most locked T-Mobile UK phones should work with a T-Mobile US sims. But check first at T-Mobile shop.

Hi,
I have been to a T-Mobile shop and was told that they use different networks so it wouldn't work but I'm still not so sure because he didn't sound that confident on what he was saying. Anyone out there had any experiences using phones in the US.

We are going to florida soon and and I been searching on this matter too.

Best advice is have a unlocked phone then once there pop in to a tmobile outlet and get a sim with what ever package you need. I am going for the $50 which gives me unlimited txt local calls unlimited Web and international calling. I that's for a month, he Mrs will get the cheaper $30 package for talk txt and Web.
