iphone restore

my iphone is set in restore mode, i have tried to restore it via Itunes, however a message alway comes up saying 'iphone could not be restored, an unknown error occured' (28). anyone had this problem before?, if so any ideas on how to fix this problem. any help appreciated

I might be wrong but it sounds like a possible hardware error, I'd take it back to Apple store if poss. I believe a faulty dock connector could cause this error, or flash memory/hard drive damaged.

mi i phone went same way if yours is not under warranty jailbrak it will cure the problem

if your iPhone is 3GS must be bad battery i have same error on mine few months ago (water damaged) change the right kind of battery and done ! check apple forums !
