buy a new fone!! apple are begining to drop support for ios 4 therefor rendering 3g handset useless!!!

Make sure you have shut down all your apps that you are not using. Press the home button twice quickly and it will show you on the bottom of the screen the apps that are currently running. Press and hold any of these apps till a red line appears over them, then press the red line to shut it down.
Also make sure you are running the latest firmware for your device by connecting it to iTunes. It will tell you if ones available.

While your in iTunes check how much free memory you have on your device it maybe full.

Restore your iPhone as a "New Device" with iTunes....try not to overload with alot of useless apps....
