Both are excellent phones, you're question is a but like asking whats better, the ps3 or Xbox 360. Both have their camp of fans who believe theirs is the best.
Me I would always choose apple as I believe the user interface is better and slicker, but if the android system was the only one I had ever used I could be saying that about android. My g/f has a galaxy 2 so I have played with it a bit but I still prefer apple. Remember any apple device is 100 times better when you jailbreak it.

I agree with john. But I'm on other side of the fence. Have messed with iphone's etc and like the apple computers.

I own a s3 and would not own an iphone but as john said. Each to their own

Just moved onto the Samsung S3 after having an iphone for the last 2 years. Had ordered the iphone 5 but got the samsung for half the monthly price. For me that was my reason, it was a no brainer.

Having used both I find no difference what so ever, some apps (like Lottery checker off the top of my head) are not on android, no biggy. I love my samsung and saving myself ?288 over the course of my contract certainly seems worth it.

My iphone is now an ipod touch and to be honest I find this quite good as it used to annoy me when the phone went and my iphone was docking playing music.
