    3GS 4.3.5 notificationsI have a 3GS

I have a 3GS which is jailbroken (tethered) on 4.3.5 with baseband 06.15.00.

It is locked to orange and i am with o2 so i have used ultrasn0w to unlock.

Everything is working fine on it except notifications as they don't work.

    I have SHSH's 4.1 (8B117) and 4.3.5 (8L1) saved.

I want to upgrade to a newer ios so i can use iplayer etc but i also need to unlock it and get notifications working again?

And is it possible to make a backup of all the cydia apps etc that i already have on?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance.

Unless you have saved your SHSH files for 5.1.1 you can only update to 6.0 now...which has a TETHERED jailbreak... Notification only works on firmwares >5.0

Ok cheers. What would be the best way to upgrade to ios 6.0.1 and will the ultrasn0w fixer work as i rely on it for unlock. Many thanks.

as fijiman said, you will only get a tethered boot on these devices for the forseeable future, unless you have an old bootrom which would enable an untethered jb. jailbreak tools like redsn0w will tell u if u have old or new bootrom.

if u want to upgrade to 6.0.1 then just do it by stock firmware via iTunes. then run sn0wbreeze or redsn0w to tethered jb your handset and install ultrasn0w fixer via cydia the usual way.

To be honest i'm not really bothered wether its tethered or not so i will just uprgade to ios 6.0.1 as you said just one more question though is there a programme that i could use to backup my phone that will save all the apps (cydia apps)

          Cheers.

Put a sim card in, and finish the upgrade.

jailbreak and use the hacktivate option, this will bypass the activation menu without the original carriers sim card.
