Iphone5 from apple

Hi guys
My iPhone5 started playing up, I could only make or recurve calls using speaker phone. So I took it to the apple store and they exchanged it for me. I am just wondering now will the phone be sim free or will it still be tied to my network ??

The phone will be the same as the one you had so if it was unlocked then the replacement will be to.

I thought all phones from the apple stores are unlocked. I never been given one in there that wasn't.
