iPhone 4 stuck in Emergency Calls - Need to backup photos !

Hello.

My bosses phone was stolen a while ago and he found it after a few days.
Whoever had the phone tried a few times to unlock it without luck.
Now the phone is stuck in a screen that says "Emergency Calls only" and says to connect it to iTunes.

We can connect it to iTunes and perform a recovery or complete wipe, but the problem is there are about 14GB of photos on this phone which I want to get out before we wipe it.

Any way to make a backup of the photos from the iPhone before a clean install ?

If I connect it to USB I can see the external storage but the DCIM folder is empty even if it says 14GB storage used out of 16GB.

If you performed a sync with iTunes prior to it being stolen then the photos will be stored. A recovery will put them back on your device.
Have a look in iTunes or iTunes libraries for your photos.

The phone was not synchronized with iTunes since 2 years ago, so there are no photos on the iTunes, this is the problem.

I also contacted apple and they said as long as I did not bought it online from them they can't *won't* help me I even sent them a copy of the invoice with serial number and all the details.

The phone is not jail broken, If I jail break it, will the storage be erased ?

Use 3rd party software like iFunbox, iExplorer.....
