Yes you can contact your provider and ask about tethering. You can turn your iPhone into a wifi hotspot and connect your sammy to the Internet through it.
If you want to tether without your provider knowing then the iPhone must be jailbroken then an app called mywi installed on through Cydia.

I think your provider can always track if you are using tethering or not. Make sure to check before otherwise there could be a bad surprise.

If you're on a contract you SHOULD just need to go to settings and turn on "Personal Hotsopt" this will allow other WiFi clients to connect via your 'phone
Use Personal Hotspoty on both 4s and 5 work well Worth noting when on 3 tablets & other phones work OK but laptops are 'trapped' and when trying to browse get re-directed to "Your contract is not designed for teathering..."
