I have an iPhone 3GS that only plays mono through headphones, but when I press and hold top left of screen I get stereo, returning to mono when I release. The left of the screen looks raised slightly. Any ideas on a fix.??

I bought it 2nd hand at CEX in Glasgow, don't know if previous owner had it opened. Going to see if I can find receipt, 'cause I think you get a years warranty with it.Comment

Sounds like a dodgy repair. It could be something as simple as the jack not being seated properly. You could open it up and have a peek. Plenty tutorials on YouTube.Comment

Finally managed to get to Apple Store, had Genius Bar look at it. They couldn't do anything except offer me a new one at ?119.
Don't know whether to go for that 'cause I only really use it as a spare phone.

Update....
CEX Store in Glasgow checked it, said it was hardware fault. Outcome is they're sending me a like for like replacement from their Stirling store. Should get it Tues or Wed.
