You're iphone would need to have the tethering option enabled in the settings. If the option is not there then you need to speak to your phones service provider about a tethering plan. When you're up and running you just switch on a wifi hotspot and connect the kindle fire to it.
Btw if you're iPhone is jailbroken then download mywi from Cydia and get tethering for free.
