iPhone 4s unable to connect to wifi

    Hi,
My iphone 4s (on IOS 7.0.4) this morning suddenly decided not to connect to the internet. When I went into settings, then wifi, it was "greyed out" and I was unable to select it. I have read on forums lots of things which I have tried, such as Reset network settings, complete factory reset(on its own and with itunes), on off with power/home buttons pressed and even the DFU reset on itunes. I have even put it in the freezer for 5 mins (one of the forums). I have since managed to get the wifi settings available but then it doesn't see any wifi routers! Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

      Hi,
      I've fixed the problem for.
This has worked for me but do this at your own risk. First heat up your iphone evenly with a hairdeyer until the "temperature warning" signal comes on (this took about 3 mins to do). Then power off the phone, then put the phone into the freezer for a couple of minutes or until the phone has cooled down. Then power up the phone, mine found the wifi straight away and I've had no problems since (fingers crosssed).
Apparently its a ios 7 issue and apple are aware of it, there's too much info going onto the wifi chip and this over heats, doing what I've found out on the internet resets this chip.
Hope this helps anyone out there

It's not a ios 7 prob because mine did this a few month back. I did what you did but I took mine apart. My phone was hot when I did it. I never put it In the freezer tho . It's been good for ages now. I think it was water damage, I never found anyone else with this prob before I had it. All I could find was replacement wifi not fix.

Mine keeps going off still. Time to try replace some parts to try fix it!

It goes off then back on. Sometime it goes off then I need to use plane mode then back on. Have you had this yet?

Sorry mate you're no configuration argument carries no weight if you jailbreak your device. Even android devices have limited configuration options- hence the introduction of rooting for them.
