    iPhone Activation Help Needed

I have bought an iPhone.........Shoot me now if you wish....... or wait for my explanation.

I was at a car boot sale and I saw this shiny, well-constructed piece of iShit sat amidst various bric-a-brac atop some knob's pasting table-cum-shop counter.
    I picked it up.
"40 quid" I was told before I even had time to fix my focus upon the object in my hand.
"Can I see that it turns on?" was my reply.
The knob turns it on thus satisfying my curiosity as to whether it worked or not.
"It just needs a sim" he added. I could see that what he was saying was correct because the screen in front of me was telling me so.
We settled on a price of ?36 but only because he claimed to have no fivers with which to exchange for my 4 tenners.
Being a kindly soul, after the transaction I told him "you could have got a lot more for this if you took it down CEX (other souped-up second-hand shops are available).
His response was something along the lines of "Yeah well, it's just sat in a drawer. Kids go through phones as often as they change their dirty pants and blah blah blah".
I took it home, laughing all the way as I intended to triple/quadruple my investment. I inserted a spare sim card and proceded through the activation process only to be met with a screen asking for the previous owner's crApple ID and password.
I do not have this information and I do not know who this knob is or where to contact him for his assistance.
My laughs have turned to misery - the minimum I deserve for going against my principals and spending money on an iShit even if it was only for financial gain further down the line.

Now... my question is.... is there a way round this?
I realise that any answers that I may find favourable may not necessarily contain the sort of information that is allowable on an open forum so please feel free to inbox me your replies.

It's an iPhone 4 by the way.

Thanks for reading. I hope you sleep well.

There's nothing wrong with your phone mate, its not blocked. Its a new security system put in place by apple. The device has been paired with a previous owners iCloud account. There are two ways to bypass this.
1- when the previous owner knew he was going to sell the device, he needed to remove the device and his iCloud account from apples records.
2- you sign in with the previous owners ID and password.

Unfortunately you have bought a paperweight, but all is not lost.
You should be able to recoup your losses by selling on ebay for parts, or you can keep hold of it as I'm sure the jail breakers will come come up with something that will bypass the activation soon.

Anthea Grant died from cancer earlier this year, but the technology giant asked her family for her written permission to unlock the device

You could email the log in account and ask to get the password
Or ask them to change it for a day or so to factory reset it then they can change it again
              Just an option etc

Next time we have to edit a post like that it will lead to a ban.

Just to verify this. Johnboy is correct. You have no way of bypassing this security. At present you're looking at a loss even if you sell all the parts.

It only gives part of the email address something like - e*****@h****.com so emailing them to ask for them to sort it isn't possible.
