Help with ipod 2g unlock/jailbreak

I'm stuck trying to unlock/jailbreak an 8gb ipod 2g,I've used snowbreeze 1.5 and the correct firmware,its stuck now on itunes restoring has anyone got a complete idots guide to doing this?thanks Will

It was 3.1.3 when I started,I downloaded the 2g firmware from iclarified and used that.keep getting error1604? when restoring with itunes.

What you mean it was 3.1.3? Whats it on now? 4.0?

You can use spirit to jb it on 3.1.3.

When I restore it just using itunes9.2 and then connect to forcast 1-1 it tells me it's possible to jailbreak/unlock it also tells me down at the bottom,iphone2g firmware 3.1.3

Ok download spirit, and it will jb it in under a minute, then it should install cydia, and your done. Also your itunes may be too upto date, as I believe that version of itunes removes the jb everytime it connects, but I may be wrong on that one.

Just checked, and I am right, your itunes version is too high mate, here is the spirit website.

Just an update got it working finally using redsn0w,now I need a few apps to get me started.
