    question about multi tasking

i noticed the new iphone 4 has multi tasking which means an app or apps run in the background and as such load up to where you left them. question is how do you turn them off if you dont want them to keep running and hence keep using memory resources and battery life.

The only way to do it is to jailbreak your iphone first and install something called Disable IOS4 Multitasking. If device NOT jailbroken it means No can do brother. Hope this help.

If you double press the home button it should bring up all the apps that you have ran, then you can stop them apps from using memory from the phone by keeping hold of any one of the apps that you have ran and delete them

        man ur stupid ,

so u think apple made multi tasking but not created a way of closing the apps down?

so we are forced to jailbreak just to close those apps .

or we can just do what the guy above me just wrote ,

          Hello all I'm new here
The only way to disable "Multitasking" permanently is to jailbreak and run from Cydia "Disable IOS4 Multitasking"
The problem with double pressing home button to switch off apps that are running in the background its a loosing battle.Multitasking is constantly at work in the background

Next time before you call people stupid read the post properly first then you will see who is stupid and who's not.

Thanks for stating the obvious anyway. The guy wanted to know "how to prevent them from running in the background" and not "How to close apps that are running in the background!!!"
