    correct firmware for update

    hello,im having issues with my iphone4 and getting cydia to function correctly
    im thinking about restoring the phone back and then re jailbreaking
    would it be ok to download the correct firmware direct from a++le and then do the (hold shift button down) and restore firmware via itoonz
    i dont want to use the firmware from a++le if its gonna stop me from being able to jailbreak again
    also is there any other way to re install cydia without doing the above ??

      If you do not require an unlock for your Iphone 4, restore via itunes, then use greenpoison or limerain to jailbreak, input whatever repo you want in cydia.

          im getting an error code 3194 when trying to restore in i tunes,,,,i have searched everywhere on the tinternet about this error code and have tried all options to rectify this,,,,,,has anyone had the same problem and how did you resolve it ?
          my shsh files are saved via tiny umbrella i have changed the host file/windows 32 etc and that hasnt resolved it,,,i have the correct ipsw for my model phone,,,,i have put the phone in DFU and tried it that way but ~~~~ing i tunes wont let me restore
          any ideas anyone ???????????? im loosing my mind !!!!!!!

              Did you change the host file in windows by any chance to the cydia server ?
              If so delete that, and try again, failing that try another pc as you should not receive any errors installing correct firmware.
              Remember dfu mode the screen is totally black !!

                  i did change the host file in windows 32 and then i got a different error code,,so i searched the net on that error and found a post that said remove that and all will be well,,,,i removed and then got rid of the new error code but got the old 3194 code back,i then found another post saying that you need to put this in the host file exactly as it appears here (it was slightly different to the other line i put in the host file first time round) so i done that tried again and still got the 3194 error code
                  after reading your post i now realize that in fact i didnt have the phone in DFU i had the usb cable pic and i tunes logo on the screen
                  i basically gave up this afternoon,,it was doing my brain in,,will give it another shot tomorrow

                      Yup, easy mistake m8, DFU screen is totally black, restore is the usb cable on the iphone screen.
                      You'd be quicker restoring it via another comp then using limerain or greenpoison.
