I have just ordered a new iphone 4 from apple and it will be here in about a week.

Is there any way of jailbreaking it?

Oh and with it being new are there any risks if I do jailbreak it?

Yes it will or should have 4.1 firmware, use limerain or greenposion to jailbreak.
Jailbroken Iphone is the way forward, any probs just restore via itunes !!

it will have 4.0.2 and you can still jailbreak but if i was you and your a noob to i phone and jailbreaking etc have a good read up first before you jb
im having issues with my iphone 4 after jailbreaking and its proving to be a nightmare,,,only after jailbreaking have i found out lots f info that i should of looked up before i jailbreaked

modmyi.com lots of info on here,,,,it is quite simple to jb the phone but if you get probs and can be a bit of a mare
search saving your shsh files through cydia as you will need to do this if you want to reverse the jailbreak or restore or update in i tunes etc,,,,get your head round it as much as possible before you jb,,,,and also loads of good threads on here and lots of people willing to help out

Its a new Iphone, you wont have any SHSH files saved, update in itunes to latest 4.1, jailbreak with limerain or greenpoison.
If you have bought directly from apple you do not need to worry about an unlock ever, only if you have it on a contract and you wish to change sim somewhere down the line look into preserving your baseband.
Search cydia repo settings here, plenty posted.

Thanks again for all the help, I have one more question.
The phone i use atm has a normal sim, I have got a micro sim for my iphone 4 but how do i transfer my contacks from the big sim to the micro sim?

Well my phone arrived and is now jail-broke, my son says i am really dumb to do it as it voids the warranty and opens the phone up to getting virus's.

Utter bullshit m8, best move you'll make with the phone !!
Had a few iphones now, all jailbroken within hours of purchasing it, well apart from Iphone 4, as we all had to wait a month before a jailbreak was available, all good m8, warranty is not void either !!

Thats really good to know, I downloaded sbsettings and really like it.

Is it just me or is the volume for the phone very low? I put it up as far as it will go but still have trouble hearing people.
