well i did this i think using a proggy called tiny umbrella,,it was quite a while back

once i start umbrella and tss or sst whatever it is
do i need to restore in i tunes in dfu mode again same as before ,or just restore holding shift and choosing my firmware ?

1 - Start tinyumbrella press "Start TSS"
2 - Start iTunes
3 - Put iPhone in DFU mode
4 - Restore with your FW of choice
5 - Use tinyumbrella to kick you out of a 1013 or 1014 error loop if anyComment

firstly i had to do a full restore of my lappy recently,,,,now when i opened tiny umbrella no shsh files were found,,,anyway i got tss runing and then done the restore and now i get the error 1600 message and nowts happened,still the same

Download a new firmware from stock/if yours isn't working!, goto felixbruns iPod, iPhone and iPad Firmware Download. Try that also there is a dfu guide on kaos have a good read while your doing it once back to normal,jailbreak,think the blobs only makes u able to install older firmwares it doesnt do the job for you

great news i managed at last to restore,,i had an old version of tiny umbrella,also i had no java installed due to the full restore of my lappy
not sure which was causing the problem but its restored now to 4.1 8b117 modern firmware 01.59.00
obviously i need to jb again,just a quick question when in dfu mode do you have the i tunes logo and usb logo on screen ?
also whats best jailbreak for my firmware
