Unlock and jailbreak 4.1 iphone

Hi guys recently got a iPhone from someone who upgraded to the new iPhone 4,the phone is a 3gs on 4.1 fw. Mb model It was on orange network, put my orange sim in but doesn't recognise. Do you still have to unlock to use same kind of sim(orange)/can you still unlock/jailbreak on recent 4.1 fw....

ye mate you need to unlock it through ultrasnow
you need to jailbreak the phone that installs cydia and then look for ultrasnow in cydia and then you should be good to go mate

If the 3GS is an original Orange handset then your Orange sim card should work ok....try removing sim tray, wipe sim and Reinsert.
As stated, if its not originally Orange then Jailbreak>Unlock.
You might be lucky enough to get it unlocked by the original Network provider for a small sum.

mines 05.14.02, the dev team are working on the unlock, but not known how long it will take.

Regardless if there is unlock solution, start using tiny umbrella or similar to preserve your baseband to aid unlocking in the future.

Snowbreeze also keeps your baseband the same on windows aswell

hey where did you get redsnow from to unlock your 3gs?
id like to have a play with that!
will goolge for it but though id ask someone that allready ahs it.

ps did your iphone get unlocked ok with redsnow?

Not hard to find... Redsn0w unlock for 3G & 3GS 4.2.1

If you have baseband 05.14.02 you will need to update to 06.15.00, this does come with risks. The biggest being that Apple will know you have invalidated your warranty as this cannot be downgraded.

YES MATE IT WORKS

1. First up is ?PwnageTool 4.1.3 Unlock Edition?. It has a special dialog box which will ask you if you want to update to the iPad baseband. You must already have the iPad 3.2.2 IPSW on your computer (see the above link)?.so just point PwnageTool at it (or let it find it on its own if you?re in ?simple? mode).
2. Directly after PwnageTool 4.1.3 is available, the official ultrasn0w repo http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com will be updated with ultrasn0w 1.2, which covers iPhone 4 baseband 01.59.00 and iPhone 3G/3GS basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and now 06.15.00.
3. Finally, we?ll release an update to redsn0w today for those without Macs and can?t run PwnageTool. The new redsn0w will give you the option to update your baseband to 06.15 too.

What I have is 3G a lot easier than 3GS ,there are still issues around 3GS and newer phones....have a good read in the links mentioned. Good look guys...if later than 3G wait a bit
