iphone 3gs broken screen

hi guys my daughter has managed to trap her iphone in her car door the screen has been smashed she's so upset poor thing
does any one no if its fixable you can cleary see the lcd fine but the touch screen is no good
i'm pretty handy so might try my self if theres a fix and replacement for it thanks guys

eBay is your parts friend and YouTube is your guide for fix.
I have stripped and replaced screen on a ipod touch all ok.pretty straight forward.

Get yourself on ebay for the digitizer, you'll be looking at the ?8 mark. Pick the right seller & you'll also get a suction cup to help with removal of the broken screen.

Two screws on the bottom of the phone either side of the charge port need to come out. Sucker out the digitizer & LCD, unclip the the three ribbons at the top of the phone, five screws hold in the LCD...take them out & remove the LCD from the carrage.

Grab a hair dryer & heat up the glass around the edges. Peel away the carrage from the remaining glass. Make sure all glass & sticky tape is removed before fitting the new digitizer. Then just follow the instructions in reverse.
