iphone just searching

bought a iphone of a friend he bought it with software probs fixed all that then jailbroke it and unlocked it

now it just comes up saying searching ie network coverage

sometimes does it for ages and sometimes does it for 5 mins then says no coverage i think


Try taking the phone somewhere else.
What network you on ?
What did you use to jailbreak it ?
What version and baseband was your iPhone ?

4.2.1 modem is 05.15.04

i dont no what happened lad who i got it of bought it with a software proplem fixed it then i just get this now he did jailbreak it and unlock apperantly but ive restored it back to original now it doesnt say no service anymore well it does for a min then goes to orange network but no bars on signal i can go to settings and it gives me my sim card phone number ect.. and under network it says orange network so it no's thats there is a orange sim in the phone just wont get any bars

please can anyone cast ia light on this obviously one is its barred ect..

but would expect it to just say no service and thats it

also put my imei number into a website that checks if a phone is barred and it comes back that it isnt barred

do i need to ring orange to get them to activate the sim over wifi ect?:??? its a new sim bought it today and got a topup on it aswell??

What kind of iPhone is it,and is it jailbroke?is it just the network that is the problem?

iphone 3g 8 gig yes eveything else works fine no not jail broken would jailbreaking it fix it?

also its strated to come up saying orange 3g instead of just orange but still no bars and still says when 1st switch on awaiting activation could take some time

Are you sure it's meant to be on orange maybe 02,you cant just use any sim,if it was 02 then you would have to unlock/or use 02.to unlock is a different story

ive tried o2 tmobile voda ect ect only sim that works ir gives network name is orange all rest say invalid sim

Did your friend say what network it was on originally,and did he jb it and unlock it? And did it work for him. Also have you done anything to it? Maybe if you activated sim in another phone first,take sim out and put back in,theck your carrier settings in phone

I don't really understand your posts. In the first you say you bought a phone fixed the software probs, jailbroke it and unlocked it. Later you ask if jailbreaking it would help. Later on you say your phone when you switch on says waiting for activation, but displays orange 3g.

What is the state of your phone now? does it say awaiting activation? if so put thye orange sim card in it (which your phone is locked to) plug it into your pc and start itunes and wait for it to activate, you will then need to jailbreak your phone, and unlock it. I am not sure if your baseband is unlockable though. I don't have a 3g so not currently aware of which of there basebands can be unlocked, i believe you have updated the phone to the latest firmware?

It's all a bit suspect,but there is an unlock using ipads baseband but if the phone as been blocked then it's a no go anyway

As I said above the only way he can do it is by putting iPad firmware on and jailbreaking/unlock with snowbreeze 2.1. He as already said what fw/modem above....however if it as been blocked then no option. But yes he should check and post back
