tomtom on iphone

i have a jailbroken iphone 3g it is sim blocked so cant get a signal

ive downloaded the tomtom app version 1.6 the newly released version it says with this version you dont need a data allowence are a signal to use tomtom but all i get when running the app is poor gps signal then after 5 mins it says cant access data allowance

These apps works with a combination of GPS and cell site information, so if you sim is blocked...you will be missing a lot of information when your GPS is poor.

yes i get that mate but it says you dont need a signal to use it and navigate ect..

The 3G use data packets swell as gps for tom-tom so needs a signal although the 3GS and iPhone4 does not

think it uses cellullar triangulation as well as gps to locate itself initially.
