All UK mobile phone networks in the UK are are able to interchange sims with each others handsets(when unlocked) except 3...as this uses a different technology...this doesn't mean your handset cannot be unlocked and used with other networks sharing the same technology in other countries.

My Iphone is factory unlocked and I've just put a 3 sim into it tonite, as long as your iphone is factory unlocked or jailbroken and the modem baseband can be unlocked a 3 sim will work.
Used a 3 sim in a jailbroken 3GS last year for a while.

well i dont have a 3 sim on me at min but i will try it in my iphone with is jailbroking and unlocked

Contact 3 they may unlock it for you for a small fee. I kow O2 do as I had mine unlocked by them and then went on to use 3 for a while.
