itunes error 21

hi im having a problem restoring iphone 3gs 8gb it keeps getting an itunes error 21 and also will not enter recovery mode its stuck in dfu mode, and wont re-boot out of it has anyone got any ideas on what to do to help me please thanks emma

Were you trying to install custom firmware,jailbreak?is there anything on screen?
Recovery mode has a picture that says connect to iTunes. In DFU mode, the iPhone screen backlight is not even on and the display is blank. If you have anything on your display you are not in DFU mode.

im def in dfu mode and it seems im stuck in it no matter what i do. i got the phone off ebay and i decided to update the firmware and now this is happening im not sure if it was jail broken before i didnt see anythin thanks

Try again make sure plugged in and sound on pc and iPhone ,then keep trying to dfu unplugging and back in and so on

Attach the phone to the pc
Turn the phone off
Hold power and home together for *exactly* 10 seconds
Release power but keep holding home until the pc beeps as a USB device is recognized.
At no point will the display come on. Now your restore should work.
Having problems? Try adjusting the 10 seconds to be slightly less like 9 seconds, then 8, then 7. It***8217;s a tricky timing but you will eventually get it.

Also when you do get it u have to restore to a stock(real firmware) first,before jb with custom

ive tried everything its in dfu mode when i try to restore using itunes it gives error 21 and restarts with either a white screen or in dfu mode. i tried red snow and it goes right through and then does the end part ten says its re starting but it ends up back in dfu mode......im stuck now on what i can try grrrr

this is a bit of a long shot but i kinda had the same problem when using blackrain. stuck in dfu. after 4 days of searching i found the answer to my problem
first make a new windows user on your pc/laptop then install itunes after logging in as the new user. when done conect iphone and it instantly tells you you need to restore. job done let me no how you gets on

What firmware uwas you on and what version iTunes you running??,search ireb may help.

the creating a new user didnt work. im running on itunes 10.1.2.17 and running on 4.2.1 firmware. still stuck in recovery and saying error 21 when i try restore on itunes. any more help would be great as im totaly stuck

did you reinstall itunes what happened wen you plugged it into pc?

Yeah I did try to reinstall iTunes when I plug it in it says on iTunes that I have a iPhone in recovery mode. Nothing ever comes up on the iPhone screen just a White screen not long before error code 21 comes on. Thanks

Think you should try ireb from here iH8sn0w.com | Jailbreak your iPod touches and iPhones and also try tiny umbrella The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella also if it's saying recovery then suppose your not in dfu properly anyway good luck in what you decide
