    iphone

Hey ppl, my mate has found two iphone's, he used to work in a night club, ( honestly ). Right one of them seems unlocked as he can use the apps in the menu screen, but he reckons the sim he needs is smaller than a normal one ?.

The second one seems to be locked, obviously the person that lost it has gotten it blocked, is there any way to unblock it ?. He tried a new sim in this one and he gets a msg saying to insert a sim with no pin code ?.

Any ideas, if I can help him I might have a free phone .

The first one sounds like and iPhone 4 "jammy get!" they use smaller micro sims like the ipad have a look here to mod a normal sim to fit iPhone 4 and iPad micro SIM DIY: Trim your SIM | Crave | CNET UK

The second iPhone can you not use at all ? If blocked it is only good in another country not here but sounds like he knows nothing about them your better having a look and getting back on here.

1st one is an Iphone 4, takes a micro sim, if bought directly from Apple will take any micro sim, if not probabaly on a contract.
The 2nd phone, whoever owned it has put a sim pin protection number on it, ie whenever another sim is inserted it will ask for the security pin number you have put on the sim, sim locked, probably not blocked, so pretty useless, even installing a newer firmware it will still stay sim protected I'm afraid.

Thank's for the quick replies ppl. Now..... how do I convince him there both useless so I can get the first on off him . Just kidding.

Don't know if it matters, but he can see the imei no's on both, am I right in thinking this would help with the second one ?

@ micky, that link is the first phone, I take it they are pricey.

The second one you would have to know what 4 digit code that the person who owned put on for sim protection.
