Apple TV advice

Looks like this is the best option for my bedroom, I'm a bit baffled by what it is so at the risk of being mocked:
has it all the main channels (BBC, itv ext)
is it best to try and buy a jail broken one? What does jail broken mean though :/ what would that give me?

where can I buy a jail broken one?

which is best 1-2 or 3?

apple tv 2 is good once jailbroken and xbmc installed with addons,, there is no limit what you can watch,,

You are better off reading about XBMC it's more to do with setting that up
