jailbreak problem touch2g ver421

I have an ipod touch 2g ver 4.2.1 jailbroken with greenpoison. It worked fine for a day with Cydia and Installous. Downloaded a few apps through those. When I used it after a few days all the apps now only load for a few seconds before the ipod reverts to the menu, can't use anything. How can I correct this?

upgrade to latest version 4.3.2 i think then jailbreak again

Reinstall 4.2.1 and rejailbreak. You won't be able to upgrade to a later firmware as the touch 2g doesn't support it.
