3.1.2 what shall i do?

all 3 kids got ipod touch's xmas 09 .all 3 were jailbroken and there all still on 3.1.2 .
thing is , the kids are saying games and apps dont work anymore so i take it they need updating.
can someone please tell me whats the best option ?.im scared to update them then find out their locked for good.

dont worry they dont get locked ,but what generation are they?

ok thats fine mate ,update to newest firmware 4.2.1 through itunes and then jailbreak again with snowbreeze 2.2

ps: if they got stuff they want pics etc !!then back ipod`s up first,then you can sync back

sorry , one last question ,
when i go to to download 4.2.1 2g FW the download page has 2 versions listed for bootloader ;-
"MC"
and
"other"
might sound daft but which do i select ?.

jesus , i spoke to soon.my youngest lad just asked " were some of my icons gone ?" he said games centre gone off main screen and a few others , , any idea's ?.

You won't get cracked apps back he will have to download again if they were not genuine.
Have you installed installous ?

i reflashed it with 4.2.1 then jailbreak and its working ok now , summut must have happened when flashing it 1st time round.

You can easily just update them in iTunes. Don't worry about being locked out.
