Cant get any new apps on IPOD Touch 1g

Hello

I have just bought a second hand Ipod Touch 1st Gen but I did not know that Apple have stopped doing any software updates for this model, so the things that I wanted, such as Facebook are not available as I can't update to the correct version IOS4.0 (or higher). Is there a way that I can get these apps on the Ipod 1st Gen.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Sell your 1st gen iPod touch in favour for a 3rd gen iPod Touch at the very least...

The system of the iPod 1g is probably not good enough to be able to handle the update, as well as any new apps that require a better system.

So you should probably get a new one or something.
