hi all can someone please give me an idiot proof guide to jailbreaking a 3rd gen touch. this is brand new and not yet been connected to a computer. I dont want it to upgrade the firmware and dont know if it does it auto.

ps never even held a touch or any other ipod for that matter b4 so all this is brand new to me

when i hit safari and enter jailbreakme.com i keep getting the message

it looks like the installer crashed it may work if you try again

but i just keep getting the message. am i doing something wrong ?

also what should i see on screen

done my one with greenpois0n - Mmmm...pois0n was with iso 4.1 on it does work may take 2 or 3 goes get it right

managed it with spirit

now can anyone tell me how to get free apps etc

Start Cydia, go to Manage -> Sources -> Edit -> Add

in the box type, cydia.hackulo.us

At the prompt press yes, Now hit the search button and type installous.

Once cydia finishes adding installous head back to your springboard and start up installous, let it update the apps and there you go the free app store. Enjoy

Once you have installous installed, then add apptrackr home as the homepage on that, and you will be able to get the apps then.
